If you don’t remember my review of Shoresy season one, you can find it here. Since it is a Letterkenny spin-off, if you don’t know about that show, here is my review of Letterkenny season one.
I am ashamed to say season three of Shoresy dropped on Crave on May 24th of this year and will drop on Hulu on June 21st and I had no idea. I had no idea there was a season two for that matter, otherwise I would have reviewed it for you. So, I am reviewing season two today and I will cover season three when it drops on Hulu. I apologize for being remiss in keeping up with the whole Letterkennyverse. Just as a side note, there is also a spin-off of Letterkenny called Littlekenny and it is an animated show of Letterkenny when Wayne and the crew were kids. It’s cute but just ok. As fans dive into the gritty humor of Shoresy season 2, others might enjoy taking a break with a classic slot game like Mega Joker for some added fun and potential winnings. Now, without further ado, let’s get into Shoresy season two.
E 1 Get’em Focused
The episode opens with Nat (Tasya Teles) asking Shoresy (Jared Keeso) if she keeps the team going, how is he going to up his game? He had made a promise previously that they were never gonna lose again and so far he has kept that promise. They are on a twenty-game win streak. Shoresy, Sanguinet (Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat), Nat, Ziig (Blair Lamora), and Miig (Keilani Elizabeth Rose) all notice the team is too worried about getting laid rather than practicing, just like most jocks in my experience. Shoresy is losing his mind on the team over this. He slapped everyone’s ice cream cones out of their hands. He wants them to focus and do better. Shoresy is driven to hit this goal of a perfect season.
E 2 Skill vs Wil
Laura (Camille Sullivan) is trying to get a quote from Shoresy and it isn’t going well. Then Shoresy is pushing the guys’ workout. I don’t know if he is actually being helpful but he is just on top of the guys like white on rice. They are still focused on their sexual escapades but Frankie is getting his own calendar which irritates Shoresy. Not only because Shoresy thinks of himself as sexier than Frankie, Shoresy is a legend in his own mind, but also because Frankie needs to focus. Shoresy picks on the younger boys Liam and Cory in the same way he did Jonesy and Reilly. It makes me so happy to see because I miss his chirping at Reilly and Jonesy. Shoresy, Sanguinet, Nat, Ziig, and Miig are stressing about the last three games of the year. They want an undefeated season to be the best team ever.
E 3 Set The Tone
The episode starts with Shoresy relieving himself on the Soo Hunt bus. Go Shoresy! It’s the game with the Soo Hunt and the Hunt don’t want to lose to Shoresy’s team. One fight had already almost broken out and that was during warm-up. Jim was supposed to set the tone and got his ass handed to him. It’s not looking like Shoresy and company will be able to win this tonight, especially when Jim gets his ass handed to him too. They managed to pull through though only for Shoresy to be ambushed into giving a kid with a YouTube show an interview. Fish finally scored a goal again. Finally! I hope this means he is going to keep scoring.
E 4 Players Only
So, I am not exactly sure what a “players only” is outside of it is a meeting of the team and even the coach isn’t really a part of it. Well, Shoresy and the boys, including Sanguinet (he’s the coach) start out their players only in the locker room after the last game. They are trying to help the Jims with their trivia team so they can get their head in the game in the rink. Trying to figure out who is the smartest dumb hockey player on the team is like trying to herd cats high on catnip. Turns out it’s Michaels (Ryan McDonell), Frankie’s girlfriends are banding together I think, in solidarity with not wanting to be part of cheating, loving Frankie (Max Bouffard), and being concerned about him because of his diet. I can’t wait for the blowback on that.
E 5 The Man Advantage
Frankie, now unloved by Quebec, is being forced to make an appearance at The Man Advantage, but he is putting out some serious resistance. The health of the team was threatened if he didn’t show. The guys can’t get him out of his room. Shoresy is almost suspended for the last game of the season because, in the fight in the last game, the visor cut to the nose caused a lot of blood. The appearance went far better than I thought it would. I was sure a fight would break out but instead, there was love in the air. What Michaels said a couple of episodes back about success not being success unless you have someone to share it with seems to have really stuck with Shoresy and Hitch ((Terry Ryan).
E 6 Accountability
Shoresy was ORANGE for his photo in the calendar. Shoresy gives a lecture about accountability and not doing the hanky panky all night so you have some energy for the game. They have one game left of the season and so far this season they haven’t lost and they don’t want to lose this game. They want to be the best team ever. The Michigan Soo is being quite disrespectful to Shoresy’s team, leading by introducing them one by one and showing the calendar picture. The pictures were horrible. This is my favorite episode and I think I know what season three will be covering.
I had forgotten that Shoresy was a bit boring to me. It is all about hockey and that story so it isn’t as interesting for me. Shoresy as a character is different in this show as opposed to Letterkenny. It makes sense though, because he gets more screen time than he does in Letterkenny. So you get to know him better. You also get to see his face, you don’t get to in Letterkenny. My husband likes Shoresy better, whereas I enjoy Letterkenny more. What about you? Do you like Shoresy or Letterkenny better? Or maybe your favorite is Littlekenny. Let me know in the comments below. Remember you can find Shoresy, Letterkenny, and Littlekenny on Hulu and Crave. Until next time, have fun storming the castle!
