The Conjuring series is one of the most popular horror movie franchises of all time. The first film made over 15 times its original 20 million dollar budget, grossing $319 million at the box office for an impressive payday. The Conjuring 2 grossed over $320 million, and The Conjuring 3 $206 million. The third installment had mixed reviews based on a weaker screenplay than the first two but still managed to make back over five times its’ budget. The movie franchise also includes The Nun, The Nun 2 (2023), Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle Comes Home, and The Curse of La Llorona. There have been talks of a spin-off movie, The Crooked Man, since 2017, which could still happen. All of this proves how well-loved this franchise is. It was recently revealed that The Conjuring 4 is in development.

James Wan has been involved in the series as director, writer, and producer and will return as producer along with Peter Safran. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is returning as a screenwriter for this film. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are in early contract negotiations to return as Ed and Lorraine Warren for the fourth film. The announcement just happened, so there is no need to panic yet. I am sure both actors will return for their roles as the infamous paranormal couple.

The plot is unknown at this point, but it will take place after the events of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
