Quarantine Recommendations: Books & Series For Teens And Young Adults Edition

In this time where staying at home is prudent, I am sure many of you book dragons are cuddling up with some books. Maybe your younger sister or brother is doing the same. Have you read all of your books and need some new material? Maybe you guys could share and have someone to dissect the book with.

In this time where staying at home is prudent, I am sure many of you book dragons are cuddling up with some books. Maybe your younger sister or brother is doing the same. Have you read all of your books and need some new material? Maybe you guys could share and have someone to dissect the book with. I have your back. Here are some books my daughter and I love.

The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith. I love, love, love the original first four books. I have tried to read some of the books, before the show, that came after the original 4 and was sadly disappointed. However, that is me. Most of the other books after the original four were ghostwritten under Smith’s name. The books follow Elena Gilbert and her love for the Salvator brothers. She must navigate the supernatural world and save those she loves. You can check out my reviews of the series here:

The Awakening

The Struggle

The Fury

Dark Reunion

The Secret Circle by L. J. Smith the original three books. I love the original three books. I have recently been made aware that there are three more books in the series. I haven’t read them. The series follows Cassie as she fights to heal the coven she has come to respect and love, their fractured families and especially her mother and grandmother.

Go Ask Alice by Anonymous. This book broke my heart. It is written by “Alice” in her diary. We walk with her into her descent into madness and self-destruction. The book is so sad but you can’t put it down.

BTS Icons Of Pop The Unofficial Biography Adrian Besley. About the Kpop band BTS, it gives insight to each band member. Suga, Rap Monster, Jimin, V, Jung Kook, Jin, J-Hope each get two or three chapters about them. It does have some really nice photos of them. It’s my daughter’s current favorite book.

The House Of Night Series by P.C. and Kristin Cast. It is an awesome take on the vampire mythos. In this, vampires are people touched by the Goddess Nyx. They are often chosen in high school. Zoey Redbird is one such girl. All the fun experiences with all the humiliation with the people there the same as any other high school but as a vampire in service to the Goddess Nyx. What could go wrong?

Five Nights At Freddy’s Survival Logbook by Scott Cawthon. This one isn’t just for reading. This one has prompted, it has quizzes and lists that every good Freddy’s employee should have. My daughter really wants this book.

Are any of these tempting? Do you have your own favorites? Let me know in the comments below. In this time when we must be physically distant, let’s not be socially distant. If you comment, I promise to answer. Til next week…
