Superstore – Part-Time Hires

Superstore - Season 3
Tyler Golden / NBC

Last week on Superstore, Amy tried to be the cool parent, Jonah didn’t know what to do with himself, Mateo and Cheyenne had the best work shift, & Dina & Garrett argue – again.

Cheyenne & Mateo
There is still construction going on in the store and Mateo has his eyes on a hottie with a body and some delicious brown eyes. The guy is totally responding to the advances and making Mateo feel really good about himself and giving him the confidence boost he needed after everything with Jeff. However, this guy keeps ending each flirt session by asking Mateo for his bathroom pass. Mateo doesn’t realize or doesn’t care that he’s being used for his bathroom pass, so when Cheyenne tells him that maybe that’s what’s happening, he gets mad at her. When he tries to test the theory by not giving the hottie his pass, the hottie moves on to flirting with Cheyenne for her pass. Honestly he goes to the bathroom too much and he might have a problem that needs to be looked at – but both Cheyenne and Mateo agree the attention was nice while it lasted.

Garrett & Dina
Dina goes to see Garrett and tells him that she needs some time to work on herself, that’s why they haven’t been boning as much. Garrett suggests that they take a break from whatever it is they’re doing to let her really concentrate and heal. Dina is super down with this plan and she starts telling everyone that she dumped Garrett. He gets super annoyed that everyone keeps asking him if he’s okay and spends the rest of the episode trying to convince her that HE did the dumping. Eventually he gets so pissed he makes an announcement on the store PA system but he crosses a line and mentions that she’s in therapy – totally uncool.

Amy
Ames gets her daughter a part time job at the store, because she wants to teach her discipline and make her less spoiled. She starts being super hard on her though and Jonah asks her if she’s worried about becoming the mean parent. After hearing this, and seeing her daughter texting and having inside jokes with her father, she decides to lighten up and try to become her daughter’s friend. She becomes super chill, lets her not finish mopping the floors and take long breaks and overall be a terrible employee. Eventually, after Jonah tries to be tough and sort of yells at her, Amy decides that she doesn’t want to be her kid’s friend – that she needs to be the parent – and honestly that no one should ever take advice from Jonah, ever.

Oh & before I forget, there’s another temp that started last week too, but no one paid any attention to her, no one showed her how to do anything, she didn’t even know that she had to clock in (although, duh).
