The journey continues, as does Felix trying to get Elton to flip sides to get everyone to turn back. In addition Huck and Felix think that if they can swing Silas, which would be easy if Elton is on their side, that one person can take the boys home and the other can continue with the girls to New York. Before all that can happen though everyone comes to a river with a blown out bridge and have decided they need to fix up a boat to get across, Silas suggests that they use an AC unit as the engine.
Felix and Huck have a meeting away from the others where they say if they are going to make a move they need to do it quickly, Hope hears the conversation and goes and gets in Elton’s face about working against them. Huck and Felix are still talking and Huck says she did think about taking everyone home for awhile but after seeing how things are going she has changed her mind. Hope and Felix finally get a chance to talk, we learn a lot about the past, Huck was actually adopted by the scientist as well, but he never acted like a brother to the girls. Huck has to believe that everything is fine because he was supposed to be the escort and not Will.
Everyone has to go and gather some supplies to get this boat ready for the journey, Iris and Felix are getting something near “Daiquiri Town”, which was saw some signs for earlier, and a lightning storm hits the building and lets out a ton of walkers. The boat still won’t start after all the last minute supplies, and the walkers from Daquiri Town are closing in fast, Felix gets some fishing line and makes a line across two trees to try to hold them back.
The boat needs someone to get down into a very small space, the only one who could fit is Elton who is claustrophobic, we saw the reason why he is so scared of small spaces, when everything started his dad put him in a small box as he went to investigate all the noises and walkers. I am unsure how long he was in that box but when he finally came out his dad was dead, and soldiers cleared all the walkers in the area. He came out and saw a flier about the school and that’s how he ended up there. Elton psychics himself up, by chanting over and over the planet order, he fixes the boat but gets stuck in some moving parts.
While this was happening Iris and Hope went to go help Felix kill some walkers as they were building up on the wire and going around the sides, it got to a point that they had to back up they ran back and pulled Elton out from under the boat. Everyone minus Felix is trying to push the boat through the sand into the water but not making it happen, Felix comes and uses a board to prop it up to try to help move it along, everyone gets on the boat safe and to the other side. Time jump ahead and they set up a little night camp, I feel that Huck and Felix aren’t familiar with this area because Huck says that she will go scout ahead to make sure the path is clear, she promises to be back in 48 hours tops.
Elton goes off by himself and has some flashbacks and breaks down, this is when we learned how his dad died, it seems he finished his moms manuscript during this time. Hope goes to talk and comfort Elton, while talking Hope sees the picture in the manuscript and that it was the person who killed her mother, and who in turn she killed. It’s going to be very interesting how this shakes out in the future!
In a preview for next week Felix and company are going to have a visitor to their little night camp!
