Life is somewhat challenging at the moment due to the global COVID-19 outbreak. It has affected many industries and video games have not been exempt. This emergency is likely to cause a delay for many new game releases that had been planned for 2020. Of course, you could always play online casino games instead to have fun while it all passes and get Borgata casino bonus code details to have more money to play with. This would be an excellent way to scratch your gaming itch while you wait for new video games to become available.

Before you decide just how to get through this whole period though, it is worth knowing which games you had been looking forward to playing may suffer a COVID-19 related delay. As so much of game development is outsourced to China, there could be a lot of fans who end up waiting for top new games to come out.

But which might not turn up when they should?

Resident Evil 3 Remake

Resident Evil is one of the most popular and well-known game franchises around. Pretty much all players will know the story and maybe even remember the movies based on these games. This had left many players across the globe very excited when word of a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was slated for an April 3rd launch this year. While CAPCOM, its developer, has confirmed that this date stands, it has also said that getting physical copies into the US and Europe is currently very difficult due to the pandemic. This could effectively mean that people in a large part of the world will not be able to get their hands on the game and that the real release date is actually pushed back until later in the year.

The Outer Worlds

Nintendo’s Switch has been a roaring success since its release with games including Animal Crossing: New Horizons really taking hold. One title that many Switch players were looking forward to was The Outer Worlds. Due for release in March originally, the COVID-19 outbreak has seen it pulled with no mention of a new launch date as of yet. This delay was down to the offices of developers Virtuous being closed in order to protect staff. While this was not great news, it has now been announced that this release, hopefully, will only be delayed until early June 2020. When ready, this sci-fi thriller is sure to impress and offer plenty of space-themed thrills for Switch players.

The Last of Us: Part II

One of the most hotly anticipated video game releases on the PS4 for 2020 was this sequel. Initially planned for May 2020, it is now unsure if this will happen. Although Sony has not officially confirmed any delay to its release, it just seems unthinkable that the game developers can put the finishing touches on it while on lockdown. It is therefore sensible to think that this title will be pushed back until later in 2020 or even early 2021. One thing to cheer gamers up though – when we catch up with Joel and Ellie again, it should be something to really savor.

Ghost of Tsushima

Another big PS4 title that seems likely to suffer a delay is Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch Productions. This is a game many people had been looking forward to playing when it was originally set for launch at the end of June 2020. For the same reasons shown above for The Last of Us: Part II, this now seems unlikely. The hope is that it will only require a light polish when developers can get back to work properly – here’s hoping it will be out in time for fall or winter 2020. This is going to be a cracker of a game as it puts players in the role of a Japanese samurai, fighting back against invading Mongol armies on Tsushima island.

Coronavirus continues to make a big impact

If you are living in a country that has gone into lockdown in an apparent bid to deal with this virus, you know the catastrophic effect it has had on the economy and many business sectors. Video games are not immune to this as the delays to launch dates for the above show. Even if games like Resident Evil 3 get released as planned, many in Europe or the US will not be able to grab their physical copy for months! For now, all we can do is try to find other ways of having fun such as online casino games and hope that the video games we were looking forward to testing out are here soon.
