Can you believe it? It’s already the final episode of Pennyworth! Marianne Faithfull is the title of the season finale.

One of the hunters with which the Queen went out hunting is still alive and alerts to the proper authorities that the Queen is taken. Meanwhile, Bet and Peggy order the Queen to call the Prime Minister with an offer. The entire government must resign and Lord Harwood should be installed as the new Prime Minister. Having control over the entire army force is not good enough for Harwood. The Prime Minister, of course, doesn’t want to resign. So Lord Harwood gives him 24 hours for a peaceful resignation before he’ll use the army to get control anyway.

Alfred has found a way out of the country on a ship that will take him to New Orleans. But before he can board the ship, the police arrives telling that the country is on lockdown and that nobody is allowed to leave. Dave being Dave says something stupid and the police now become suspicious of them. Before they need to show their identification, they knock out the cops and steal the police car.

Somewhere else in London pays Thomas a visit to Martha. He says she needs to pack her bags and leave the country with him because they could be on Harwood’s death list. But she refuses to go and even wants to put herself into more danger by helping the No Name League. Before the two of them can get into a massive argument, Alfred, Bazza and Dave arrive. Alfred wants Thomas to arrange a save passage out of the country but starts to have second thoughts when he hears that the Queen has been abducted. If he rescues the Queen, she’ll pardon him and he can stop running away.

The police arrive at Lord Harwood’s house to arrest him, but they only find his wife and one of his staff members who have hanged themselves. Harwood himself is safe in the army headquarters in London and orders his men to capture the leader of the No Name League, Undine Thwaite. The next time we see her she is hanged in the middle of the street for everyone to see.

Alfred, Bazza, Dave, Thomas and Martha are on their way to the Sykes sisters. When the sisters are playing Happy Family with the Queen, Martha and Thomas are at the door. Martha punches the housekeeper and lets herself in. Alfred, Bazza and Dave took the backdoor with their guns raised but see that Bet has put a knife to the Queen’s throat. With the help of Peggy and two guns pointed at her, Bet releases the Queen. In all the commotion, someone jumps out of a closet and stabs Dave with a kitchen knife before Bazza shoots the person in the head. Luckily, his injuries are not lethal and he can listen in when the Queen calls the general of the army to tell that she is safe. The general then captures both Lord Harwood, Frances Gaunt and the remaining Raven Society members present in the army headquarters.

Back in Buckingham Palace, the Queen holds a speech on live television that she is safe and that things will change to make sure that the happened events never occur again. Alfred keeps calling the Queen madam, but that changes after he spends some quality time with her in her bedroom. When Alfred arrives home later that day, his mother is over the moon that he is back but his father suspects that he has something to do with the defeat of Harwood, as a Raven Society member himself something he is not happy about.

Martha visits Thomas in his hotel room. She confesses that she likes him too, something he mentioned earlier that day. They share a kiss and begin to make out. But before things can get heated, shots are fired from outside the hotel room and Thomas is shot. He stops breathing, but Martha successfully revises him.

That same evening, Alfred is called by the Queen. She misses him as she is attending a celebratory dinner held by the family Alfred’s father is serving as a butler. What both of them don’t know is that Alfred’s father hides a bomb in the cake for dessert. When Alfred and his mother are watching tv, both of them get a bad feeling. It is there that his mother tells Alfred that his father is a Raven Society member and belongs to the most secret chapter. Alfred immediately gets the feeling that his father might be up to something and goes to the mansion.

Alfred enters the house through the basement. He is caught by a guard but saved by one of his father’s colleagues who recognizes him. Meanwhile, the cake is brought into the dining room and Alfred’s father retrieves the detonator. At the same time, Alfred enters to room trying to stop him, but he is too late. His father is ready to detonate the bomb. Alfred has no other option but to shoot his father, but because the detonator falls to the ground it still triggers the bomb. The entire house is blown up, but out of the ashes appears Alfred with an unconscious Queen in his arms.
