On the first full day of San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Funimation released the first English dubbed trailer for the new Dragon Ball Super movie, “Dragon Ball Super: Broly.” In it, we got all the key players in action against the Legendary Super Saiyan, with both Goku and Vegeta going against the raging beast in both his normal and powered-up forms. Also, for the first time ever, Frieza even goes against Broly as well! We also see a few of the Frieza or is it Saiyan Force’s spaceship and army along with Goku tapping into his red Super Saiyan God form at one point in the trailer. There’s also a few new faces in the trailer, who we don’t have names for just yet.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is set to come to theaters in Japan first December 2018, and then the English dub will debut in the United States first in January 2019. This movie will actually take place after the events in Dragon Ball Super, which ended its Japanese run a few months ago, while the American dubbed versions are airing weekly every Saturday on Toonami and will sync up nicely once that ends in December.

This will also be the first time that Broly will be made a canonical character in the series — his three previous movie appearances in Dragon Ball Z were all non-canon — and series creator Akira Toriyama will have more of a hand in making Dragon Ball Super: Broly then either of the previous two Super movies (Battle Of The Gods, Resurrection F) before this. And don’t worry, the newly redesigned Broly may look different, but he is still ridiculously huge and towers over everyone he faces. Yup, his power’s maximum.
