It isn’t everyday we get a panel at San Diego Comic Con for a show in the middle of a season they’re airing in, possibly because SDCC is only a few days out of the year, but more so a lot of things are being talked about as marketing into the next season or just drawing crowd for their finale.
Shadowhunters gave us the best of both worlds this year with a second half of the season trailer, a first confirmation reveal that, SPOILER, a major character dies in the Season 2 Finale, but also teasing that Season 3 (already confirmed) will mainly focus on the Mortal Instruments novel “City of Fallen Angels” according to Shadowhunter’s mastermind Todd Slavkin.
Fortunately for everyone the show has always received attention for deviating enough from the books to keep die hard fans pissed, but interesting enough to keep fans coming back, and Season 3 is promised to keep up with the trend.
Other notable news:
- Alisha Wainwright is going from recurring character to series regular in Season 3 and we are pumped for more Maia
- Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland will be making a guest appearance in two episodes of Season 2 (August 7th and 14th) as an iteration of the Seelie Queen — we have no comment and hope she does well, because it feels forced from her offscreen relationship with Dominick Sherwood, and she needs to blow naysayers away with her portrayal.
