Snotgirl fans will have a great start to their new year as comic artist, Leslie Hung, announced the return of the series on her social media.

For those unaware, Snotgirl is a comic made by artist Leslie Hung and Scott Pilgrim‘s Bryan Lee O’Malley. It follows the story of protagonist Lottie Person. Lottie is a fashion blogger through her rollercoaster of a life. Online, she’s seen to be a glamorous icon, while reality is different; she’s awkward and has many terrible allergies. Lottie’s life changes into something new when she meets Caroline, that she nicknames “Coolgirl”. Caroline is beautiful, mysterious, with some dark secrets Lottie may not want to uncover.

While the story is separate from Scott Pilgrim, Snotgirl has something similar – that all of the characters are flawed but likeable. Those that enjoy reading content with diverse representation would also enjoy this series, as it has characters of different ethnicities, race, and characters that are openly LGBTQ+.

The first volume of Snotgirl was released in 2017. Since then, it has had 15 releases, with the last being in 2020. Many fans were worried the series came to a premature end, however that was changed with the recent Twitter announcement. It is currently unclear when in 2022 we will see the return of Snotgirl, but hopefully it is sooner rather than later.
