The last time we saw Teddy was near the end of season 2 where he very clearly killed himself in a heart-wrenching scene with Dolores. She would later do right by him by placing his control unit into the Valley Beyond. At the time, this was a fitting end to the character and personally, I was okay with how they handled it. His death was earned and was very true to his character.

However, this is Westworld and we’ve already seen instances of characters coming back in some form or other. Making this more intriguing is the fact that we know Dolores took five host pearls outside the park. Who they belong to is anybody’s guess and fans have been debating ever since season two aired.

James Marsden has recently stirred things up with comments he’s made while promoting Sonic the movie:

“I mean, I’m not allowed to say anything,” Marsden told Comicbook.com. “But I would say that just based on your hypothesis, if he’s died 4,000 times then I would say that the odds are probably strong. Yeah. And you know, But it’s a question I can’t answer. And I think time will tell.”

Marsden very clearly hints that there is a chance but stops short of confirming it. He definitely knows something is up which means he’s involved in some way in season three or beyond.

It won’t be long until we find out; the new season airs March 15, 2020, at 9pm on HBO.
