Good Omens is based on the book of the same name by writing duo of Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett, who both joined the Amazon series as writer/producers. With the authors at the head of 6 episode project, it promises to be a faithful adaptation.

The wild, fantastical story follows a demon (played by David Tennant) and an angel (played by Michael Sheen) as they attempt to stop the coming apocalypse. A lot more insane stuff happens, but this should be a convincing enough plot to entice viewership — if you want more I recommend reading the book!

The show will feature a talented cast of huge celebs. Alongside Tennant and Sheen will be Jon Hamm (Mad Men) will play the archangel Gabriel, and it was recently announced that Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Doctor Strange) has joined the series as the voice of Satan. Yep… you read that right. In fact, several Sherlock stars will join in this series including Sian Brooke and Mark Gatiss. It doesn’t end there — Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation), David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), and comedian Jack Whitehall are among other names also involved.

Based on the cast, creative team, and this epic trailer, we can tell that Good Omens is sure to be everyone’s next obsession! Get ready because The End is Nigh!

Good Omens premieres on Amazon Prime Video on May 31, 2019, and then on BBC.
