The time is finally here. Jojo’s Bizare Adventure returns with its fifth part, Golden Wind the first episode of which premiered yesterday both in Japan and in the West.

The animation feels like a return to form that was maintained throughout Parts 1, 2 and 3 but rather lost in Part 4. All of the beautiful, extravagant colors reminiscent of the colorations done by the original manga artist return as well as the shifting colors in important moments and animations of the famous Jojo sound effects.

The quality and movement presented in the animation is likewise a step above what was done for most of Part 4 so hopefully that maintains itself throughout the shows considerable run time.

Overall, not that much happened in the premier though. We are introduced to the next Jojo, Giorno, as well as seeing some of what his powers are. We also get some background on Giorno as well as seeing both Jotaro and Koichi from previous parts. The premiere leaves off perfectly though for the second episode with the fight between Giorno and Bruno about to transpire, getting a much better understanding of both’s powers as the two will be the joint leads for the series.
