This panel was one for the books! Warner Brothers released several highly anticipated trailers and featured an in-character appearance from Johnny Depp as the dark wizard Grindelwald from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

This trailer featured lots of footage we’ve already seen, but at over three minutes long, we certainly got lots of new stuff as well. This trailer suggests that it will be much darker and serious than its predecessor, but still offered glimpses of fun, exciting new magic. And of course, there are some new fantastic beasts. Crimes of Grindelwald premieres November 16.

WB also released two trailers for more DC franchise films, including Shazam! starring Zachary Levi and Aquaman starring Jason Momoa.

These trailers, along with the short glimpse of Gal Godot reprising her role as Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman 1984, proves that Warner Bros. has learned from the success of Wonder Woman, and their upcoming films use the same cartoonish visual style. Shazam! is especially different from previous DC adaptations in that it’s more lighthearted and humorous, perhaps akin to Marvel’s Ant-Man. It will definitely be interesting to see how these two stacks up to the current DC films, and even compete with Marvel.
