Okay, it might not be entirely unfortunate… but that’s essentially what one should expect in regards to this show though, isn’t it?
After the success of its first season, Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events was renewed for 2 more seasons. Considering the first season adapted the first four books, it was assumed that seasons 2 and 3 would adapt four more, respectively…leaving some to wonder where the 13th and final book of the series fits into this plan…
It was just confirmed that Season 3 of the show will be its last, and will cover The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, and of course, The End.
Considering that will complete the book-to-screen adaptation, it makes sense that the show will be ending at this time. However, there was some fan speculation/theories that the show would perhaps continue further than the books, continuing the story [spoiler if you have not read the entire series] that ultimately ended with next to no resolution.
Season 2 is set to be released on March 30 2018, and Season 3 does not yet have a release date.
