SYFY’s hit show “The Magicians” is back for its third season, premiering early this year in Wednesday, January 10th at 9:00pm EST.

The first episode, titled “The Tales of the Seven Keys” picks up almost immediately after where Season 2 left off. The generic descriptor is “Quentin tries to find a way to bring magic back, Julia explores her spark of magic, Eliot and Margo struggle with the fairy invasion, and Kady tries to find a cure for Penny who is at death’s door thanks to the Restricted Section.”

If you haven’t had a chance to read the source novels, now is a great time, as The Tale of the Seven keys is almost the same as the main storyline pulled from the second book The Magician King. From the teasers, and the general trajectory of the series, it seems the writers have taken the quest a little off script, which has always been the times when the series has shined.
