That’s right, the wait is officially over and The CW’s scarlet speedster will once again be gracing our televisions every Tuesday at 9pm. After an explosive first season, we can’t wait to see what the show has in store for season 2. This is what we know so far (Spoilers Ahead, obviously :P)
Grant Gustin (Barry Allen) has mentioned that we’ll soon be seeing Earth-One and Earth-Two on the show. Without giving too much away, we can safely say that Earth-One is where Barry and the crew are, Earth-Two is a separate timeline that we can count on seeing this season. Earth-Two houses the first-ever speedster: Jay Garrick.
Jay Garrick will definitely be introduced this season. The producers have dropped some super-subtle hints with respect to Jay; his helmet falls through the time-vortex, and he plays a pretty significant part in the upcoming season’s trailer. According to the trailer voice-over, he’s here to warn the team about an imposing threat (hmm…the dangers of inter-dimensional timetravel, maybe?). Something tells me his appearance won’t be a mere single-episode feature, and that we could be seeing Jay as early as the first episode.

Now let’s talk about Iris. I have a confession to make: I hate her. Last season she was portrayed as ultra-naïve and sickeningly one-dimensional, with her relationship with Eddie seeming to define her entire character. It’s safe to say his act of heroism will take a significant toll on Iris, hopefully leading to a tragic, but ultimately more rounded character profile.

In the Speedforce, we know Barry saw Killer Frost, a villainous version of Caitlin Snow, and while that transformation seemed far-off at the time, we could see the transition sooner than we think. In the comics, Killer Frost is born after an encounter with a band of villains known as HIVE. Since we know Greg Berlanti (producer) loves Flarrow crossovers, and Arrow is set to introduce Damien Darhk (a tech-crazy member of HIVE), Cailtin might be introduced to the dark side sooner than we think.
Wally West is also set to make an appearance, and other than the fact that he’ll be played by the talented Keiynan Lonsdale, not a ton is known about the direction they’ll be taking him this season.
