Emily in Paris, the hit Netflix rom-com series, is back for Season 3, and we can’t help but feel like we’re getting an early Christmas present. December 21st can’t come soon enough! Roll on the streetside cafés, the chic and colorful clothing, and the undeniable charm of Emily Cooper. Plus, that Season 2 cliffhanger—we’ve waited long enough! Will Emily pick Paris or Chicago? Gabriel or Alfie?

Where Did We Leave Off?

Paris or Chicago?

The cultural differences are palpable when Madeline, Emily’s pregnant American boss, arrives in Paris. Emily finds herself in the middle as rifts arise between Madeline and her mentor at Savoir, Sylvie. When Sylvie eventually leaves Savoir, taking the rest of the staff with her, Emily feels left out. That is, until Sylvie offers Emily a position at her new French marketing firm. Emily must decide if she wants to continue to be Madeline’s corporate soldier and pursue the Chicago promotion she’s been working toward her entire adult life or take Sylvie up on her offer and stay in the City of Light.

Gabriel or Alfie?

After witnessing the magnetism of Emily and Gabriel throughout two seasons, it was hard for fans to fall for Alfie. But, eventually—we did. The sarcastic British banker grew more appealing in each episode as he helped Emily learn to not take everything so seriously. At the end of Season 2, Alfie announces he’s moving back to England but suggests a long-distance relationship. After all, London and Paris are just a train ride away.  But deep down, Emily still wants Gabriel. In a very brave act, Emily shows up at Gabriel’s front door to tell him the truth about her feelings so she doesn’t always have to wonder what might have been. As Emily starts to profess her love, Camille pops her blond head into view and our hearts dropped, right alongside Emily’s. Shockingly, Camille had moved in. Camille and Gabriel were back together.

What Can We Expect:

According to the Season 3 synopsis (courtesy of Netflix), Emily is still in Paris and “finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life.” Faced with two paths, “Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie — at work and in her romantic life — and what those decisions mean for her future in France.”
