On this side of TGON, we love listening to nerdy voice actors throw dice and battle mythical beasts. Honestly, we love many forms of tabletop role-playing games; however, we are chatting about Amazon’s The Legend of Vox Machina this week. The animated version of Critical Role’s campaign one.

The Story
The simple synopsis of The Legend of Vox Machina boils down to a group of rag-tag misfits attempting to pay off a hefty bar tab. However, fans of the show know it is a little deeper than that and can expect to see a few significant points of interest. First, viewers will see some pre-stream backstory, allowing previous viewers of the campaign a glimpse of the past. In addition, viewers will also see the Briarwood arc from the original series. Finally, a few iconic arcs will also be revealed.
Thoughts
I have been counting down the days until the release of The Legend of Vox Machina for a while now. I can proudly say I was not disappointed. The animation is gorgeous, and the adult humor has the same energy as the campaign. Hearing Scanlan sing full-length songs were the absolute highlight of my weekend. There are also so many Easter eggs I couldn’t begin to share them all with the finite space I have. In addition, finding the hidden Mercer in each episode has been a hoot. In conclusion, if watching animated characters kick-butt and share some crude jokes, this is a show for you.
