Have you noticed Thursday nights have been a little dreary? Sure, they bring us closer to Friday; however, they have lost their luster. That is until October 21st came around. Some people may wonder, what ignited the spark again? Critical Role campaign three!

The Who and the Crew

Critical Role has been mentioned several times on this side of TGON, and honestly, I could talk D&D all day. What started as a home game blossomed into years of content, a charity, and a look into the minds of creative individuals. For the uninitiated, the cast includes Matthew Mercer (Dungeon Master), Ashley Johnson (Pike & Yasha), Laura Bailey (Vex’ahlia & Jester), Liam O’Brien (Vax’ildan & Caleb), Marisha Ray (Keyleth & Beauregard), Sam Riegel (Scanlan, Tarryon, & Nott), Taliesin Jaffe (Percival, Mollymauk, & Caduceus), and Travis Willingham (Grog & Fjord). However, this time, we also get Robbie Daymond (Dorian Storm), known for his role as Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon. With campaign two finished up, Critters were excited to see how the story would continue. Let me tell you if episode one is any indication, I think we are in for a treat.

Meet the Characters

This campaign begins in Marquet, one of three continents in Exandria. Our soon-to-be heroes have all met each other, and the players gave descriptions of their characters. Below are the details we know so far.

Thoughts and Things

With campaign two finished up, Critters were excited to see how the story would continue. Let me tell you if episode one is any indication, I think we are in for a treat. As I sat on my bed, donning my Hello Bees shirt, I was full of anticipation. Seeing the set Ray envisioned, I was in awe. The crew seemed to be buzzing with excitement which added to my own. Upon meeting the characters and seeing the battle against the sentient furniture, I have a few thoughts.

First, Laudna is creepy and intriguing, while Imogen seems sweet and inviting. Second, fresh Cut Grass immediately stole my heart, and Ashton is a new take on an Earth Genasi. Third, I love that Faerne, Orym, and Dorian joined campaign three. I adored them in EXU, and I am excited to see where this journey takes them. Finally, Bertrand, while hilarious in his own right, seems suspicious. While I know we met him previously in The Search for Grog, something seems a tad fishy! Overall, the cliff-hanger we left last week has me brimming with excitement, and I am curious to see where this adventure hook leads.

Odds and Ends

If you want to get in on the action, be sure to check out the Critical Role Twitch channel on Thursday nights at 7 pm Pacific. If getting in on the moderated chat is not your thing, head over to their YouTube channel. However, if Thursday nights are not in the cards for you, check back to their YouTube channel at noon the following Monday or via podcast, wherever you like to stream. In the end, I am looking forward to my Thursday nights once again.
