Following from the previous article about the Harry Potter MMO that never came to be, this one focuses on Hogwarts Legacy, which is being released this year. Some are suggesting that it may even be released earlier than expected.
What is Hogwarts Legacy?
Hogwarts Legacy takes place at the infamous school in the 1800s, far before Harry Potter takes place. It is described as “an immersive, open-world action RPG” that lets the player take the stage in their own magical adventure. While much of Hogwarts remains the same, being before the events of Harry Potter means the players make their own novel. Discover fantastic beasts, craft potions, master spells – the magic is within your hands.
Currently, all players know is that you receive a late acceptance letter from Hogwarts. But, from your lessons, you learn something new: you hold the secret to Ancient Magic. Will you use your gift for the greater good or the dark side?

One of the key features of Hogwarts Legacy is character creation. Players are able to make their own character and customize every detail to make them exactly how they want. Additionally, players can choose what house best suits their character. Additionally, details from the website have said that the game branches out into Hogwarts and beyond, featuring places such as the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village.
