Are you wondering if there are any good movies coming out in the rest of 2021? Looking to end the year on a high note? Look no further. These are my top ten movies to get us through the rest of this trying year. I even included trailers. Let’s see what I picked.

A Boy Called Christmas~ A magical story for the holidays comes out on Netflix on November 24th, 2021. In this movie, we get a glimpse of who Father Christmas was before he was Father Christmas. A young boy named Nikolas, goes in search of his father who is looking for the village of Elfhelm. In his company are a talking mouse and a reindeer. A Boy Called Christmas stars Kristen Wiig, Stephen Merchant, and Toby Jones.

Encanto~ New from Disney is Encanto. It stars Stephanie Beatriz, John Leguizamo, and Wilmer Valderrama. A Columbian gal, Mirabel, is the only one in her magical family that has no powers. Suddenly, the magic home where they reside and that gives them their powers is breaking. Mirabel must save her home, family, and magic. It premiers on November 24th, 2021.

Resident Evil Welcome To Raccoon City~ Also premiering November 24th, 2021 is the new film in the Resident Evil franchise. Instead of following Alice, this one follows Claire. This film tells the origins of what happened at Spencer Mansion and all its secrets. It stars Kaya Scolelario, Neal McDonough, and Robbie Amell.

Ghost Busters Afterlife~ A mom and her two kids move to the middle of nowhere. In their new home, they find they are very connected to the original Ghostbusters. This movie stars Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, and Carrie Coon. Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts of the original cast are all back. It premiers on November 19th, 2021.

Clifford The Big Red Dog~ Based on the books from when we were kids with a brand new story of greed and having to go on the run. It still has Emily Elizabeth however, instead of her mom and dad, it is her and her Uncle Casey. It is still about the relationship between Emily Elizabeth and Clifford though. It stars Darby Camp, Jack Whitehall, and David Alan Grier and premiers on November 10th, 2021.

Spider-man No Way Home~ Spiderman is found out. People know who he is. Peter goes to Dr. Strange to see if he can make people forget he is Spiderman. The spell goes awry and old enemies reappear. Can he fix what was undone and what is unraveling? Of course, the central cast from the last two movies is returning along with some from the Avengers movies such as Dr. Strange and Wong. It premiers on December 17th, 2021.

Matrix Resurrections~ Premiering December 22nd, 2021 is the fourth movie in the Matrix now series: Matrix Resurrections. I never thought it would happen. It never even occurred to me that one was needed. I can say I am excited to see it. I LOVE Keanu Reeves and I love the Matrix movies. I can’t find anything on a specific plotline but I did provide the trailer. Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith reprise their roles but Laurence Fishburne does not. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II takes the mantle of Morpheus. Christina Ricci and Neil Patrick Harris joined the cast.

Sing 2~ With a new show opening, Buster Moon and his friends need a new opening act. They want Clay Calloway for the opening number but must impress him first. It has an all-star cast that Pharrell Williams, Halsey, and Bono will be a part of. It also premiers on December 22nd, 2021.

West Side Story~ This is a retelling of the 1957 musical. The basis of the story is the same. From what I saw in the trailer, they gave it a similar look to the original movie. Not just the clothes. When I watch the trailer it looks kind of like the original movie looks, a little hazy. It premiers December 10th, 2021 and stars Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler.

I am truly excited to see Matrix, Westside Story, Spiderman, Ghostbusters, and Resident Evil. I want to see the others too but the ones I named I am most excited for. Are you looking forward to any of these? Did I miss one that has you stoked? Let me know in the comments below. Until next week…
