Seis Manos is an anime set in the town of San Simon, a fictional town in Mexico. The plot follows three orphans — Isabela, Jesús and Silencio — who have been trained in Chinese martial arts since they were children. After the death of their mentor, the three must join up with a policewoman and a U.S. DEA agent to find justice.
I fell in love with this series for a myriad of reasons like its style, setting, character archetype and, above all else, the social issues the show addresses. Not to mention the star-studded cast — Danny Trejo and Mike Colter in a Kung Ku anime? Yes please! Trust me when I say that Seis Manos is one of the best anime choices you can make this year…and with all this quarantine time on your hands, do you really have an excuse to not give it a chance?
The answer is no, so tune into the Seis Manos Watch Party at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET every Saturday to stream two episodes each week with the cast and crew! And don’t forget to find me on Twitter to share all your thoughts and feelings about the action!
