Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and especially to the fact that Seattle is ground zero in the US, Emerald City Comic Con made the decision to postpone its 2020 show in order to ensure the safety of its patrons. While it was disappointing to know that an event so close was postponed, ultimately we at The Game of Nerds commend ECCC for this. And you know what? ECCC went the extra mile to make sure nerds can still enjoy elements of the convention from their own home!

Emerald City Comic Con has launched a digital platform allowing fans to access content and purchase items from artists, creators and writers who would have otherwise been at the convention. Although it got off to a rocky start, ECCC has posted several opportunities to get yourself some swag straight from the safety of your couch! Below are the events available:
Artist Alley Online
Dark Horse Not at ECCC Sale
ECCC Artist Alley on Tumblr
Funko Virtual-Con
Pajama Con 2020
Very Very Shopping Network
Zenescope Virtual Con
As someone who gets their kicks primarily from the show floor at conventions, this news was miraculous! It will never be the same as the real thing, but I hope you enjoy the virtual convention aspects as much as I have so far! ECCC also announced today that the convention will be rescheduled for August 21st – 23rd, 2020. Tickets can be transferred to this event but you must tell Reed Pop by March 27th or new tickets will be on sale soon.
