“Holly presents her unusual theory about the connection between two other mysterious child murders and the Frankie Peterson case. While Ralph remains skeptical, a more receptive Yunis suggests they start looking into Claude, the last person to have contact with Terry. Jeannie’s attempt to include Glory in their group of concerned citizens backfires.” – HBO

Holly makes her grand appearance in Cherokee City. She presents the fruit of all her labor to Howie, Glory, Jack, Sablo, Ralph, Alec and Jeanine. Her evidence explains how all the murders are connected through a boogeyman that is responsible for the murders and now they need to find the next target of impersonation.  As you’d expect from a bunch of relatively grounded people Holly’s theory isn’t received very well. Glory imparticular berates her and everyone involved and goes off about this whole investigation being a waste of time.  Jeanine invites Holly to stay with her a Ralph, against Ralph’s wishes.

The only one truly receptive to what Holly has to say is Jack.  Back at Jack’s apartment, he is greeted by the outsider posing as his dead mother. This is punishment for Jack not stopping Holly.  His “mom” beats the absolute crap out of him.

At Ralph’s Jeanine begins to believe what Holly has to say. Holly’s theory matches the descriptions Jeanine and Ralph have had drawn. Ralph is still not buying it but comes around slightly when Holly uses a blue light on the chair the outside supposedly sat in when speaking to Jeanine. They find the same residue on the chair that was found on the clothes at the barn.

With new evidence, Holly believes the outsider decomposes or sheds to transform into another person. She believes he uses a host to do his bidding while he is shedding similar to Heath’s associate.

Speaking of a host,  Jack being the only one to take Holly seriously agrees to take her to the barn where Terry’s clothes were found. At one point, Jack bends down while Holly is driving. When he does this she notices the same rash that was on Heath’s associate.  She notices and attempts to make up an excuse to go back to Ralph’s but he brushes her off.

The Outsider is on Sunday nights at 9 on HBO.
