Shameless Season 9: Ep. 6 “Face It, You’re Gorgeous”

Fiona has already invested $100,000 in the commercial property when she finds out that if she doesn’t come up with another $25,000, she will lose the money she has already invested and may even have to put her apartment building up for sale. The news hits harder when Ford finds an apartment for them to share, but it is going to cost $3,000 a month. When Fiona tries to talk him out of it, they get into a huge fight and Ford leaves. Fiona can’t find the money and starts drinking. When she realizes Ford never came home, she tracks his phone to another woman’s house. The woman turns out to be Paddy, Fords estranged wife who he shares a child with. Fiona is upset and tries to leave, but crashes her car into another vehicle. The next day, when she’s supposed to drive Ian to jail, she’s nowhere to be found.

Ian prepares himself for jail by enjoying his last day of freedom. He packs all of his things into the attic and decides to spend his last day at home. Carl and his new girlfriend give Ian self-protection lessons and teach him how to sharpen a proper shiv. The next day, Kev drives Ian and his siblings (minus Fiona) to jail so he can turn himself in. After being put in a cell, Ian hears his cellmate enter. Nervous, he turns around to see Mickey standing in the door. Mickey gave the police information about the cartel, so he could choose where he’d go to prison. Mickey will be Ian’s cell mate. They end the episode with a kiss.

Carl and his girlfriend give Ian lessons on how to defend himself. Carl seems to have found a girl who can keep up with him.

Frank and Liam show up at the mental ward looking for the woman who offered him Vicodin in the hospital. He can’t get her out of his mind. When she finally gets released, she’s taken home by her ex-husband, but Frank follows her home on a bike. She’s a little freaked out when he shows up on her door-step, but he tells her not to be ashamed of her inner crazy. He likes it.

Lip’s the sober companion of a celebrity who doesn’t care for her sobriety. After baby sitting her all day, he has no choice but to bring her home for Ian’s last dinner. She kisses Debbie and tells her she’s a special woman. It’s the first time all day she doesn’t really think about a drink and Lip manages to keep her sober for her meeting the next day.

The Gallagher clan say goodbye as Ian turns himself in for his stint in jail. It’s not easy on any of the siblings, but certainly not Lip.
