When we last left our beloved Hammond family, Joel had just found Sheila, sitting in her vehicle in the driveway, covered in blood and holding a human heart. We last remember her seeing Carl before her big investor meeting, where she was already getting stressed out before she even left her car. What could have happened? Is Carl dead? Did they get the investor to… invest? Let’s find out!
The Situation
Joel is panicking, and rightfully so. Sheila has no recollection of what happened for much of that day, and she’s covered in blood and gore. As he gets more and more frustrated, he assures her that he’s mad at the situation, not her. Sheila can’t offer very much help as to what happened, especially considering the bulk of the body is nowhere to be found! They head inside, and notice she’s even missing one of her red boots.

After confirming that there are no new bodies in the storage unit, they decide to find out what happened. Sheila calls Carl but gets his voicemail, where she leaves a sketchy message about her whereabouts the night before. Joel comes outside and confirms that Carl hasn’t been to work yet. They freak out in the parking lot and Carl pulls up unbeknownst to them. There are some sad moments, including one about Abby’s wedding. Carl comes up, pissed at Sheila for bailing on him, forcing her to stand up to him. Carl chooses to fire her instead, not Joel, and tells a dumbfounded Joel that he rescheduled the investor meeting.

After Sheila lets Joel have it due to his poorly handling the Carl situation, there is a knock on the door. Lisa thanks Sheila for the advice that she gave her last night. Since Sheila has no idea what was said, she has Lisa tell him. Apparently, Sheila convinced Lisa to get baptized so Anne would go down on her, or something to that effect. Sheila also convinced Anne to get back into painting and slapped some ass. Lisa tells her that she “deserved that lobster” which brings some panic to the Hammonds’ eyes.

Abby comes in the kitchen and is greeted by a surprise. There’s a Nazi in the freezer, well part of one. She has Joel look, and he informs Sheila that her leftover lobster is in the freezer. Lisa starts in about the red boots, stating Anne was obsessed with them. Abby offers to walk Lisa out since she needed to talk to Eric anyway. Lisa asks Abby when she and Eric were going to date and mentions his large…member. Sheila and Joel decide to go check out the salvage yard where AJ the Nazi apparently worked.

The Best Laid Plans
Eric and Abby discuss their plans for vandalizing the fracking billboard. Eric’s plan is tame, changing a few words and citing his sources, while Abby chooses to go above and beyond with blood all around. She wants the night vision goggles that Eric’s stepfather Dan had, but he had those taken away because the neighbors thought he was spying in their window while they had sex. Abby thinks she can get them because Lisa likes her, so she heads to find Lisa.

Lisa is not doing so hot on the baptism thing, since she hasn’t read the bible yet, but is willing to give Abby the goggles. Mainly because she assumes Abby and Eric were going on a date. Lisa decides that she wants to make up Abby. Abby declines, but Lisa forces the issue. Lisa compliments Abby about her new attitude and it is a genuinely nice moment. Abby really loves made up her, it’s not something she often sees. Lisa gives another compliment that spurs Abby’s little mind: The Hammond women go big or go home.

Joel and Sheila go to the salvage yard, and the tall man waving at her was a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube guy. They find a camera, which may have the evidence against Sheila, or an explanation. No one is inside except for a little pup. They have a conversation about Sheila working, because without it she’s just a monster. They find footage of her just standing outside. For a long long time. They get to watch her murder him in an epic battle, and then use her heel to kill his brain. The boot gets taken by the pup, which he stored under his butt. Sheila has a moment where she’s horrified by watching herself murder that Nazi. Sheila and Joel agreed that she shouldn’t work around other people. They delete the footage and walk away.

Walking Away
Eric gets bullied by Christian, which is all he CAN do since he can’t pick on Abby. He takes the drone that he just got for the fracking sabotage mission. Eric has a moment where he is about to blast Christian with a book, but he chickens out. He goes home to play video games, and to conclude that he’s only a badass on there. Abby comes in and tells him she wants to blow up the trailer on the fracking site. Eric explains that he’s chickened out entirely. He bails, which certainly crushes Abby, and she leaves looking broken and sad.

Joel does his sales pitch, and the investor loves it because his father would have hated it. Daddy issues much? Joel heads home to tell Sheila and finds her cleaning the Nazi out of the fridge. He tells her that he quit and shows her their new business card. They’ve started their own real estate company, and Sheila is super excited! They head upstairs to get physical, hotcha! The episode ends as we pan across the garage, where Anne has painted all the clues about the missing people. Including one about Joel being a nervous neighbor. This could be a problem…

Things are really starting to heat up with Anne hot on their trail, I wonder how that will play out? She’s tenacious, and just doesn’t want to give up on this case she KNOWS has more merit than her coworkers give it. It’s a shame to see Eric bail on Abby, but she DID just decide that she needs to blow the trailer up, which is a whole new level of intense. Joel and Sheila are closer than ever, which you need in a murderous couple team, but I don’t think they’re out of the woods just yet. Can’t wait until next episode!
