*In the previous episode we seen the owl revealed which so happens to be Jace! Yes sexy face Jace is also a part time demon amongst the shadowhunters. Lilith reveals her plans to use the bloodshed of others to bring Johnathan back to life by using Jace as her servant.*

Lilith’s Reign: This episode opens with lilith talking to her puppet slave Jace. She explains how she needs him to finish her work so that she can resurrect Johnathan. After years of not being able to carry a child herself, she gave up her own blood to create Johnathan ( If you didn’t know, Valentine is the baby daddy). Since Jace is responsible for Jonathan’s death, lilith plans to ill him after he completes the mission.

Clary’s touch: It was Clary’s touch that brought Jace back to reality. Being controlled by Lilith has put Jace in a daze that causes him to be unrecognizable. To Clary he appears to be unhealthy physically and mentally. The fight with Jonathan in the bathroom were mind games with Jace. I believe his true suffering is losing his sanity. Having Jonathan haunt him with his eyes open and closed is causing him to mix dreams with reality. It’s driving him crazy to be a shadowhunter by day and a demon at night. Clary wants to back out of keeping the secret because she knows what the thought of Jonathan living could do to him. She doesn’t care about the consequences that come with telling the truth, but Jace insist that she keeps it to herself. I think that keeping the secret away from the others is going to keep them from finding out Lilith’s plan. All hell can break loose if she gets away with her evil doings, but it’s Clary’s touch that she is now threatened by.

What about Simon?

Luke has chosen his fellow wolves side instead of Simon’s since he is the alpha. His decision to make Simon move out because of his new power ,has sent Maia into a rage. We know that the brand only activates when someone is trying to hurt him, but Luke almost lost one of his members because of that. For that, luke has chosen their side. I like how Maia says that it was a prejudice act when the wolves tried to attack Simon. Classic Vampire vs.Werewolf beef is still burning alive. Despite being a werewolf Maia still loves her vampire.

Meet Kyle:

Kyle is the bike riding bystander who likes to injure trash cans (Not really). He is also Simon’s good karma for offering him a place to stay. I think the two will work out as roommates since he already won Simon over with his dream guitar. Simon’s concern is that his power could possibly get in the way of friendship. It turns out Luke is responsible for Simon meeting Kyle after kicking him out. He felt bad for doing it, but what did he get Simon into?

Jace’s Internal Battles:

After being confronted by Alec again about his suspicious behavior, Jace goes into complete defense mode. It’s hard to hide a secret when you’re always acting guilty. Izzy also expresses her concern with Clary about his behavior, but she sticks to her lies. Eventually Clary is going to have to tell the truth regardless of how Jace feels. Slowly he is melting in self destruction. The investigation is going nowhere because the person he is after is right in the mirror. How can he run from himself?

The Scum and The Sun:

Heidi broke free of Raphael’s private prison to find blood. Not leaving much of a trail, Izzy and Clary search for the mundane that’s alleged dead. She decides to torture Raphael for giving her life only to use her as a test subject. Raphael is now the one who is chained and tortured by sunlight. His intentions to find a way to help vampires walk in daylight didn’t end to well. Luckily Izzy and Clary were able to save him from burning alive. Izzy feels the hurt behind his acts of selfishness and wants to free him of any consequences of the clave only if he leaves the city.
