In what feels like an eternity since the last episode The Simpsons are finally back with new episodes after a two month hiatus.
We’re also only half way through this season so there’s still quite a lot of content to get through. Although, the one event that has people excited is a Moe centered episode due to come out in April where we finally get to meet his father.
Executive producer Matt Selman hinted earlier this season that the episode will be like a “Shakespearean family drama, set against the backdrop of a fading mattress store empire.”
Ray Liotta has been cast as Moe’s father Morty who is described as a more cunning, evil version of Moe. Here’s a sneak peak at how he’ll look:
The episode will apparently serve as a kind of backstory to Moe. This in itself is somewhat surprising in that after all these years we haven’t had a proper Moe origin story. Ray Liotta’s guest appearance also marks the first time he’ll be contributing to the show which is also surprising considering he’s been a fairly well known actor since the late 80’s and one that could have fit right in with Fat Tony’s gang.
As for Sunday’s episode Bill Hader guest stars as a 70’s style detective trying to figure out if Homer is indeed guilty of stealing a piece of art from the museum; here’s the official preview:
Other guest stars later this season will be JK Simmons, Jon Lovitz, Daniel Radcliffe and Gal Gadot.
