Will & Grace - Season 1

Chris Haston / NBC

On this episode, Jack hangs out with Grace, while she tries to impress him with her sexual prowess. & Karen hangs out with Will, while they literally annoy and harass her staff for entertainment.

Grace starts out the episode dating a guy in her building, but he quickly dumps her because he’s a child and he’s scared of running into her when he doesn’t look his best I guess? To get over him, Grace decides to get under someone else. She goes out with Jack and they meet a hot waiter that Grace ends up hooking up with in the bathroom. Before her random hookup with the young hottie, she runs into her old college litt professor and confesses to Jack and they hooked up back in the day. For the record Jack is hella unimpressed with all of this.

When she heads back home, she sees the first guy outside her door with flowers, coming to apologize and get back together. As they’re working on all of that, the hot waiter from before shows up! You barely have time to be like did he stalk Grace here but then the boyfriend sees him and is like HEY SON! Now Grace is trying to keep the son from telling the dad that they hooked up but the son is being a real ass and alluding to the most beautiful woman he’s with. Side-note they just had sex, they’re not exactly together, what’s his obsession?! While she’s juggling these dudes in her apartment, her college litt professor shows up. Guess what…he’s the GRANDPA!

So Grace has been with Grandpa, Dad, & Son. They’re all in her apartment right now, and they’re all talking about her without actually talking about her and it turns into a fight so she shuts them all up by coming clean. The relationship is ruined, but at least Jack is impressed with her now.

In the B-plot, Karen has put cameras all up in her house and spies on her staff all day. She watches it like people watch a telenovela, throwing in random sirens and musical cues to scare them. It’s honestly super invasive and rude and I can’t even enjoy the hot guys in tank tops. Will gets invested in the sexual tension between cook and pastry chef so he enlists the help of someone who speaks Spanish to “crack their code” and inserts himself into the narrative to force them to admit their feelings to each other.

So I guess YAY Love or whatever, but playing a siren just for fun to scare your housekeeper is rude and I can’t deal with the show’s constant blindspot to this mistreatment.
