It is finally almost time! Gotham will return tonight! ! Honestly, it feels like forever since we had the mid-season finale. But let’s face it, the last episode was on December 7th so it has been almost three months. I have been occupying my Gotham need with the prequel book Dawn Of Darkness in the meantime and I would recommend it! That is if you can handle Harvey’s thoughts about two things mainly: women and alcohol.

Anyway, let get back to business and let me tell you what happened so far and what we can expect of Gotham season 4B!

We ended season 4 with quite a bang:

  • Lee is now the boss of the fightclub in The Narrows.
  • Nymga is slowly becoming The Riddler again as his hallucinations are returning
  • Solomon Grundy is starting to remember that he was Butch Gilzean after Tabitha beat him up.
  • Bruce has not only fired Alfred as his butler but also as his guardian.
  • Penguin is now in Arkham after Sofia blamed him for the death of her father and the supposed murder of Martin.
  • Sofia has finally shown her end game. It’s not entirely taking over Gotham, but to allow Gordon to live with the guilt for killing her brother Mario.
  • Gordon is still Captain of the GCPD.
  • Zsasz was working for Sofia while he was pretending to be loyal to Penguin. Also, The Sirens started working for Sofia.

This is what we can expect for the rest of the season:
Season Four of Gotham will witness the emergence of the criminal landscape for which Gotham City is best known, with GCPD Detectives Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock at the forefront of the fight against the most depraved and unhinged villains. While Gotham City fights for normalcy, a new hero will rise, as Bruce Wayne begins to assume responsibility for the city’s well-being.

Here some updates that you need to be aware of:

  • A new actress(again), called Peyton List will play Ivy Peper. However this might sound as another weird move, this is what co-executive producer Bryan Wynbrandt had to say about it, “The change was all based on the idea that she’s continuing to evolve to become more of the Ivy from the comic books and what we really enjoyed. In this third evolution, you’re going to see a really self-possessed, really scary and driven version of the Ivy character, who is intent on kind of making the world in the image she sees it should be, which is the green world. The world where the plants rule and people are an after thought.”
  • Also, Jonathan Crane / Scarecrow has been recast. Due to Charlie Tahan’s commitment to the series Ozark, the role ended up recast with David W. Thompson.
  • Be warned because the rumour goes that this season will end with a major cliffhanger according to Bryan Wynbrandt.

The promo for Episode 12 has been out for a very long time and has made me really, really excited for everything that is supposed to happen. The trailer shows Jerome and Penguin formulating a partnership behind bars and Barbara warning Jim of the bad things that lie ahead for him and Sofia after what happened to Carmine Falcone. Meanwhile, Bruce takes a yet another step to embracing his destiny but not while coming under the seduction of Ivy.

Have I made you excited yet? Go check out Gotham’s ‘Pieces Of A Broken Mirror’ next week and don’t forget to check The Game Of Nerds for everything Gotham!
