With the end of Droughtlander in sight, here are a few things you shouldn’t expect when Outlander returns on September 10th:
Don’t expect Jamie and Claire to reunite immediately
We all know that Claire learned last season the possibility that Jamie was still alive, but don’t forget that there is 20yrs of his life to explore without Claire, as well as the marriage between Claire and Frank.
According to Moore:
“It felt like the right amount of time, and it felt like it was enough to build a want, a desire in the audience to get Claire and Jamie back together… it wasn’t dragging along. It’s two decades of these two people’s lives, so it felt like to do that justice you had to really give it some time and some space. You don’t want to brush over it and prepare like nothing really happened.”

Don’t expect Claire and Jamie to step right back into their old relationship.
After 20yrs of growth and trauma, as well as living in a loveless marriage and raising a daughter (for Claire) Don’t expect them to ease right back into a routine once they find each other again.
“I think we all approach this from a place of how does experience and how does time change you? … People don’t change that much, but certain things change about them or how they carry themselves.” said Balfe when asked about aging Claire.
Don’t expect them to stay in Scotland.
With filming moving to South Africa this season, it should come as no surprise that our time traveling duo won’t only be traveling through time. The show borrowed fellow Starz program Black Sails’ sets for a trip to Jamaica!
Don’t expect the same steamy scenes from Roger and Bree that we see from Claire and Jamie.
“I wouldn’t necessarily say we’re the sexiest?” Skelton said about Bree and Roger’s relationship
Richard Rankin said of their relationship “They have a very strong romantic relationship, but it’s a different dynamic.”
