Riverdale may have wrapped up it’s main mystery by the end of the first season, but that doesn’t mean all our questions were answered! Here are ten things that still have us scratching our heads into Season Two:
Betty and Veronica’s Smooch

While definitely upping the shock value — as intended — can anyone tell me why this happened? This moment (not even a plot point, a moment) was dropped basically after it happened, never to even be mentioned again. Can we expect more pointless Beronica in future seasons?
Cliff’s Wall-o’-Wigs
Not only was Clifford Blossom’s secret naturally-silver hair never an actual plot point, the fact that he wears wigs instead of dying it makes even less sense — and not just one wig, but a wall of identical ones. Why, Riverdale?
Archie and Jughead’s Fight
We know that Archie and Jughead stopped being friends sometimes before or during the summer, but this is dropped a few episodes in and rarely mentioned again when they make up. Why was this never discussed or explained? Season 2 or beyond seems a bit late to reveal such an old secret.
Hermione’s Personality Shift

Who is Hermione Lodge, really? A loving and fierce mother? A manipulative and unfeeling business-lady? Somewhere in between. The writers didn’t seem to be able to decide, and we’re just left confused. Even in the finale, Ronnie is talking about her mom like she’s an Ambien-obsessed bitch-aholic, despite a season of mostly defending her. What gives?
Betty’s Vandalized Locker
Who vandalized Betty’s locker with mean messages? I mean, it had to be a student or a teacher. Is this ever going to be explored, or was it just a plot point to make her Serpent-saving mission seem more dangerous? My money’s on Chuck. Toolbag.
Ms. Grundy’s… Everything
What was the point of this arc? Was she ever honest with anyone? Is she really a battered woman on the run, or just a creepy cougar predator looking for fresh high-schoolers? Both? We’d love answers, but we also never want to see her face again.
Nana Rose’s Disappearance

Where was the eldest Blossom when Thornhill burned to the ground? As far as we know, she lived there permanently… right? So where was she when the police and firemen came? Did Cheryl accidentally flame-broil her dear old grandma?
Betty’s Dark Side
If this isn’t explained further in Season 2, I don’t even know what to say.
Sheriff Keller and Mayor McCoy’s Corruption
I mean, it was clear as day, right? Are we going to get answers on this? Or is everyone going to go on and pretend that the system is normal?
Archie’s Feelings

Betty or Veronica? Pick one and stick with it.
Fred and FP’s Fates
It’s basically a given that these will be answered next season, but we still want to know. Is FP still going to spend his life in jail for being a part of the cover-up? And is Fred alive after being shot? We need answers, stat.
Jughead’s Criminal Future
A new school, a new criminal gang. How is Juggie’s life going to turn out now that everything’s been uprooted in the worst way possible?
Josie’s Asshole Dad

Man, screw that guy. Josie was one of the many characters suffering from ‘not enough screentime’ syndrome (Kevin, Moose, Dilton, Reggie, etc.) and her story arc this season never got a proper resolution. Will Daddy McCoy ever be proud?
Cheryl’s Cronies
Are Tina Patel and Ginger Lopez really done as Cheryl’s lackeys? If so, what purpose did they ever serve? Can we get a super-diverse spinoff?
Hiram’s SoDale Project
What really is going up where the old Twilight Drive-in used to be? All we know is ‘it’s going to be big’, and probably not beautiful. With Hiram Lodge at the payroll, will it be something less than legal? Will we ever get to know at all?
Polly’s Weirdness

Am I the only one that thought Polly Cooper was crazier that a bag of peanuts? Please don’t leave this unaddressed, writers.
