Things have gotten grim, dismal, and gothic in the second teaser trailer for Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” and we couldn’t be more excited.

The trailer finally gives us a glimpse of the Baudelaire orphans Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, as well as that villain you just love to hate: Count Olaf himself, beautifully portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris.

Check out the trailer here!

So, are you stoked, or are you stoked?

The show is set to release January 13, 2017, and will initially be a release of 8 episodes. In a recent interview, Neil Patrick Harris revealed that each book in the series has been adapted into two episodes each; in other words, the first four books have been filmed, and each book is essentially a full-length film.

We’re counting down the days, and obsessively rewatching the trailer and scanning for every minute detail. We’re nerds, it’s what we do.
