All good things must come to an end, this is also the case with the Resident Evil series. Within six months, the sixth and final installment in this series, The Final Chapter, is set to release. It will be a sequel to Resident Evil: Retribution (2012), based on the Capcom survival horror video game series Resident Evil. Here is what we know so far!
1. The Story
Picking up immediately after the events in “Resident Evil: Retribution,” humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion. Umbrella must overcome yet another challenge from Alice, who must first regain the superhuman abilities she lost in the prior film if she has any hope of saving humanity.
Along with Milla Jovovich, who yet again will play Alice, the film also features the return of Ali Larter as Claire Redfield, Iain Glen as Dr. Alexander Isaacs, and Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker. New additions to the cast include Ruby Rose as Abigail, Eoin Macken as Doc, William Levy as Christian, Fraser James as Michael, and Japanese TV personality Rola as Cobalt.
3. Old Alice
While shooting scenes for this movie, Milla posted a photo on her Instagram showing “Old Alice”. But what the most interesting thing is, is that she mentioned that the look is not created for the end of the movie. This might indicate that we get to see a part of Alice’s future or that this look has something to do with something that happened with Umbrella Corporation.
The movie is set for release on January 27, 2017.
