Hey there everyone! Welcome to another TGON Plays! This week, I’ve combined two games into one review! I want to tell you all about the amazing Portal series.
I should probably start off with the fact that these games are puzzle games, but don’t let that dissuade you from playing this. It’s a fascinating storyline with a lot of sass, sarcasm, insults, and potential deaths.

The first game can be rather slow, but please please play it through. You’ll be guided by GLADOS, an augmented intelligence being who was built to run and operate an underground science-studies laboratory called Aperture Science. She was built to run the building long after the human race had dissipated. You play as Chell, a human who doesn’t speak, that she monitors during testing. I hate to do this, but I’ll have to spoil the end of the first game for you in order to explain the second. It ends like this…a bad thing happens and you end up having to fight GLADOS. By the second game of course, we’re all a little cautious of test taking. But you’re rescued by an adorable spherical ball named Wheatley. He tries to help you get out of Aperture Science’s underground laboratory but instead you two end up waking up an AI that you’d both thought was dead. Once GLADOS is up and running, she forces you into testing; Meanwhile Wheatley works to rescue you and you end up behind the scenes of it all, not only working to escape but learning about the founders of Aperture Science, the history behind GLADOS, and what all of this is really about.
