South America S29 Ep 4 Review

Well, I’m convinced now. Matt and Trey took at all the people complaining about how Randy was taking attention away from the boys and decided to troll us. And it worked: kid Randy, or Little Randy, as he’s now being called, was comedic genius. And evidently, they are not letting up with the joke as it is the driving force behind this satire of the apparent beef shortage in the country. That, and gearing up for things to change in November, and we all know why: GTA VI.

GTA VI is COMING

So, I didn’t know about this until the show brought it up, but there’s this shortage of beef in America right now. Naturally, this translates over to South America hard. All the cows in town are getting bought and sold to snooty elites on the grounds that it’s “more patriotic.” I get what they were going with here. It’s a jab at how America’s trying to rely more on local meat and other foods. The truth is, though, I didn’t care about this conflict at all. Because, again, I didn’t even know that it was a thing. I’ve been too busy indulging in the Female Malfoy trend going around or getting ready for November and GTA VI.

Or I was, until A03 went wonky!

I know that the joke has been going on all season might be starting to wear on people, but South America is right to be obsessed with it. GTA VI is said to be the most anticipated video game of all time. Experts are saying that so many people will call out on its release day that the economy will take a hit. There’s someone out there who’s not only been leaking gameplay footage of GTA VI, but even threatened to release it for free unless Rockstar gives us a game disc for it! In other words, GTA VI is going to be a big deal! The show somehow even got Rockstar to let them use exclusive footage in this episode!

The other big plot point that made the episode enjoyable, though, was Little Randy.

Little Randy! Such a Scamp!

It would seem that for the remainder of the season, South America intends to keep Randy as a kid, much to Stan’s embarrassment. He’s already ashamed of his dad as it is, but he doesn’t take his clumsy attempts to integrate himself into his friend group well. I don’t blame him, though. He doesn’t even remember the boys names and insists on calling them the Goonies. Unforunately for Stan, he’s the only one who has a problem with Little Randy. Everyone else at school loves Little Randy as he rallies the kids to demand meat other than guinea pig on a stick.

I know that many people keep guinea pigs as pets (my family even had two), but yes, they’ve been eaten as food in South America for centuries. This was just another way for the show to play with its renaming. It’s disturbing, but a nice touch.

PEACE!!!!

So, how does this all end? Well, as Stan and Randy realize, it was never about the beef itself. People just wanted to look patriotic by eating “American” food. So they convince the rich folk to start eating the guinea pig meat, and they can go back to blowing up with explosive diarrhea. Quite literally, I might add. It’s as gross as it sounds.

This episode wasn’t that interesting for me beyond Little Randy. I’m hoping that South America ends the season with an entire GTA-themed finale. That would be legendary. Please, guys! Give it to us to promote the game and join the hype train!

I Give “Guinea Pig on a Stick” a 3/5
