Fall 2026 TV Premiere Dates: New and Returning Shows to Watch

Summer may be coming to an end, but don’t fret, because it means something better is right around the corner. Fall. Everybody loves fall, and it isn’t just because of pumpkin spice lattes and cozy sweaters. It’s also because that’s when some of our favorite TV series return and some of our new favorites begin.

If you’ve been wondering when and what is going to return this fall—I’ve got you. Here’s a list of every new and returning show you can look forward to watching in the upcoming months.

Dancing with the Stars — ABC | Season 35

After Robert Irwin took the title in Season 34, this celebrity dance competition returns for its 35th season. Which stars will join the cast this year? Hopefully, we’ll find out soon!

R.J. Decker — ABC | Season 2

This ABC crime comedy (with Meredith Grey’s new man) returns for its second season, and rightly so. The first season was rather entertaining, and unlike some crime shows, it didn’t make us think too hard.

September 21

The Voice — NBC | Season 30

After 29 seasons, this singing competition returns for Season 30. Anyone else feeling old? It premieres at 8/7c with two new coaches, Queen Latifah and Riley Green, joining our OG coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine.

September 22

Doc — FOX | Season 3

Dr. Amy Larsen returns for the third season of this medical drama, but unfortunately, her memory has not. Tune in at 9/8c to find out what this 22-episode season holds.

September 23

The Floor — FOX | Season 6

The reality competition returns at 8/7c, and honestly, I don’t know about you, but I love this show way more than I should. Something about the trivia, the categories, and the drama of conquering the floor never gets old.

99 to Beat — FOX | Season 2

Another competition series that is wildly entertaining is this show hosted by Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews, which involves 100 contestants fighting for a million dollars. The only rule is not to come in last place.

Hell’s Kitchen — FOX | Season 25

Gordon Ramsay is back, and not the nice version you might know from MasterChef. No, this is the original Ramsay, who’s back and ready to whip some chefs into shape as they battle it out in Hell’s Kitchen.

Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test — FOX | Season 5

Who doesn’t want to watch a group of celebrities face brutal challenges led by actual Special Forces members? With this show airing right after Hell’s Kitchen, it feels intentional, as if they want audiences to wonder which is worse—Special Forces training or working under Chef Ramsay?

The Simpsons — FOX | Season 38

This animated family is apparently going to be around for a very long time, but somehow, they have yet to age.

Animal Control — FOX | Season 5

Joel McHale returns in this workplace comedy, where he understands animals really well but has a hard time understanding people.

September 30

Shark Tank — ABC | Season 18

This two-episode premiere will kick off the new season with our Sharks, and I’m excited to see what new invention might change our lives. So far, nothing has beaten the Scrub Daddy for me.

Scrubs — ABC | Season 2

If you haven’t already watched the first season of this Scrubs revival, you definitely should. Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke are all a part of the revival, and the new season should include a few fresh faces as well.

Marshals — CBS | Season 2

Returning to its usual Sunday-night slot, this Yellowstone spinoff will have Luke Grimes returning as Kayce Dutton, who is the cowboy/Navy SEAL crossover character we have all been searching for.

October 6

NCIS: Origins — CBS | Season 3

This prequel series, which takes place many years prior to the events of the original NCIS, follows a young version of Leroy Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell. Honestly, the fact that it also stars Mark Harmon makes it an automatic watch for me.

October 7

Abbott Elementary — ABC | Season 6

I can’t believe this series that follows the teachers of Abbott Elementary is already on its sixth season—but it is. I’m excited to see what chaos and classroom disasters they face this time around.

October 15

9-1-1 — ABC | Season 10

For a series to make it to its tenth season, it means it’s worth it. (I mean, look at the last show on this list and you’ll see what I mean.) This first-responder drama returns with most of the same core group of characters, including Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie.

9-1-1: Nashville — ABC | Season 2

9-1-1: Nashville is the epitome of “same same but different,” as it follows the same sort of format as the original but with different characters in a different city. It will premiere alongside the original on Thursday nights.

Grey’s Anatomy — ABC | Season 23

The longest-running primetime medical drama in American television history returns for a 23rd season, and I am not complaining. (But I do miss a lot of characters. RIP Derek.) Unfortunately, this season will see even more losses after the departure of Kevin McKidd as Dr. Owen Hunt and Kim Raver as Dr. Teddy Altman in the Season 22 finale.

The New Series You Should Be Most Excited About

September 17

The Traitors: New Blood — NBC

Based on the original competition series The Traitors, this new series follows a group of civilian participants—regular Joe Schmoes, if you will—rather than the group of famous reality personalities and celebrities that participated in the original series. Alan Cumming will return as the host, and the premise is pretty much the same: a Scottish castle, two groups of Faithfuls and Traitors, and a $250,000 prize. The Faithfuls have to figure out who is sabotaging the group before it’s too late.

September 21

Line of Fire — NBC

This action thriller/family drama stars Peter Krause and Hope Davis and follows a family, each of whom happens to work for different government agencies, including the Secret Service, FBI, and U.S. Marshals. The story involves some sort of deadly conspiracy they will have to face together. Despite not yet being released, the series has received a lot of hype, so I am excited to see if it lives up to it.

October 6

NCIS: New York — CBS

Although this is yet another NCIS spinoff, this one stars LL Cool J and Scott Caan, so it will probably be worth a watch.

October 8

Eternally Yours — CBS

This comedy series comes from the team behind Ghosts and is about a 500-year-old vampire couple who are in an eternal roommate phase with one another. Sign me up.

Cupertino — CBS

Starring Mike Colter, this new drama is set in the city of Cupertino, California, and follows a lawyer who ends up in a sticky situation with his former employer after they cheat him out of his stock options. It sounds like a serious type of show, but I’m sure Colter will make it interesting nonetheless.

Final Thoughts

With this lineup on the horizon, it’s probably time we wrap up our streaming binge-watches and prepare for our new fall premieres. And if you’re wondering whether your pumpkin spice latte will be out in time to enjoy them both together, most coffee shops will have them out by the end of August—so the answer is yes!
