Chances are you have seen something to do with the newest Pokémon news, whether it’s everyone’s love for Lechonk or the eyes all being on the new professors. But, just in case you did miss it, here’s everything you missed from the newest Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet trailer.

The New Professors

This newest release brings two new professors: Professor Sada for Pokémon Scarlet, and Professor Turo, for Pokémon Violet. This is the first time there have been separate professors for the games, which has many fans wondering one question: why? Some speculate that they will just be referred to as a distant colleague, while other theories suggest that there may be a rivalry – or the other even being the villain of that game. However, one thing that is interesting is how each professor matches the legendary of that game, which we will get to next.

The Legendary Pokemon

The trailer had us see the legendaries of these games for the first time. Koraidon, the red one on the left, is the legendary in Pokemon Scarlet. Miraidon, the purple one on the right, is for Pokemon Violet. The official Twitter explains that their powers are “shrouded in mystery”, so it’s unknown what exactly to expect from these two (though one could take a guess that Miraidon might be an electric type).

Sneak Peaks at Other New Pokémon

While in the trailer, we see some returning familiar faces, such as our usual Pikachu and others like Venonat. We are also introduced to new Pokémon. These are Lechonk, Smoliv, and Pawmi. Lechonk is the pig Pokémon you have likely seen all over the internet. Smoliv is a grass-type Pokémon designed to look like an olive. Lastly, Pawmi is another electric mouse type Pokémon.

Other New Features Include:

  • This game will be the first open-world RPG in the series. Players are free to explore at their own leisure, not in an order dictated by the story.
  • There will be character customization options available.
  • The trailer also confirms that there will be a multiplayer feature, though the details are still vague.
  • Additionally, we see trainers with their Pokémon following along with them. Again, however, the details still haven’t been entirely confirmed.
  • A glimpse of new biomes – like mountains, snow, and swamps.
