In the camp, Kaiji faced more difficulties but he didn’t give up. In the latter part of the series, Kaiji navigates the gambling world with his astounding gambling skills.

Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler

Personally, this is one of my favorites. It was first published in 2014 and was later adapted into an anime series in 2017. It is well known and loved among anime, and manga lovers. 

The story follows the complicated gambling systems that govern the students in an academy. The name of the academy is Hyakkaou Private Academy. An institution that is mostly attended by the children of the crème de la crème of the society. The gambling system involves students betting their wealth against each other. Failure to contribute to the systems leaves students with names like “slaves” or “house pets.”

Well, all these changes when a transfer student, Yumeko Jabami arrives at the academy. She soon navigates her way through the gambling system. So much so that, she changed the game for everyone with her gambling skills.

It follows the story of an extremely honest college girl, Nao Kanzaki. Nao receives an anonymous package of $1 million, and a note saying she has become part of a game. First published in 1997, and written by Fumei Sai. The writer continued releasing episodes in the series till 2004. Legendary Gambler Tetsuya went on to win the Kodansha Manga Award for shonen. It was later adapted in 2000 into an Anime TV series.

This manga tells the story of the people of Shinjuku. The people of Shinjuku had to struggle for survival after WWII came to an end. Lack of basic necessities, like food, led many people into gambling. The name of the gambling game was Majong. Travelling Tetsuysa, a well-known gambler was on top of his game until he met Boushu-san. Boushu defeated Tetsuya, and this led him to want to know more about Mahjong.
