Hey guys! Welcome back to another TGON Plays! This week, I wanted to shine some light on a classic game with a new twist. We’ve all heard of Pac-Man, the classic arcade game that kept everyone addicted for hours. It’s one of the holy grails of video games. But, do you remember when they took Pac-Man and completely revamped his world? I do, because it was one of my favorite games as a kid. So this week, I bring to you Pac-Man World!

This game isn’t just…collecting dots and avoiding the ghosts. This game is an actual story-line based game. Sure, you still collect the pellets, you get fruit that help to up your score, but that’s no longer the point of the game. The story goes like this: Pac-Man returns home from a day out to find that everyone is gone. Including Mrs. Pac-Man. They’d been kidnapped by Toc-Man, who basically wants to steal Pac-Man’s identity from him. He took all of Pac-Man’s friends and family to Ghost Isand, and so Pac-Man heads to the island to fend off the ghosts (Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde), as well as various other minions to Toc-Man.

Now, I won’t lie…the graphics are horrid. This game came out in 1999, when the craze of 3D Graphics was in full swing. But regardless, it’s an amazing game that sparked new interest in our favorite pellet-eating character. Pac-Man World is…essentially a complete revamp of the original game. It’s got those classic 3D Graphics that I mentioned, and you control Pac-Man much like you would any other character. He can run, jump, and fight. It’s available for play on the PlayStation One, PlayStation Three, and the GameBoy Advance. be sure to check it out! For a game that is…essentially a remake of an arcade classic, it’s extremely good. I’m giving it a solid 4 out of 5 glasses. Thanks for reading!
