Before rising to meteoric fame, Johnny Depp produced an excellent portrayal as the oddball journalist, Raoul Duke, in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The book-to-movie translation of Hunter S. Thompson’s novel of the same name is a satirical black road film that also starred Benicio Del Toro as Dr Gonzo. Raoul Duke and Dr Gonzo went on a road trip across Western America in search of the American Dream.
