Award season has come to a close, and yet again, I was disappointed with the red carpet. I actually preferred the ensembles at the after-party, but we’ll just stay with the actual event. It was all about capes and wearing sustainable garments, but here are my choices for best dressed.
America Ferrera is wearing Alberta Ferretti, and I thought she looked like a goddess. The simplicity of her dress, with the dramatic sleeves, really worked in her favor, and the dress accentuated her curves perfectly, especially her baby bump. Also, red is a great color for her complexion. The hair also compliments the outfit very well. I like how it’s pin-straight and has the gold band going across her forehead. This is definitely a bold fashion statement to make, but I think she pulls it off. If she had worn that with a more detailed dress, it might have started looking too over the top. She looks like she came out of the Renaissance.
Adam Driver is wearing a Burberry tuxedo, alongside his wife, Joanne Tucker. I really liked their look as a couple. They look very polished and his wife’s dress is absolutely gorgeous! I love the black and white color palette, with the hints of colored flowers cascading down the skirt. They definitely looked like a Hollywood couple going down the red carpet.
