Okay, so it’s more of a count up, but details, details. Since the announcement was made that Supernatural’s 15th season will be its last, I find myself feeling nostalgic. So, for the next 8 weeks I’ll be posting and writing about the five (in my opinion) best episodes of each season. This is by no means a definitive list, nor is it in any particular order, but I will fight anyone who tries to argue that these are not the best of a very long, very beautifully painful show.

Okay, this is a weird season for me, since in general I was really not into season seven AT ALL. The rub, though, is that there were a lot of individual episodes I truly loved this season, as well. So here they are. My top five episodes of season seven:

1.)Meet the New Boss

Cas as a villain. Need I say more? I love this episode because, although Cas is generally seen as a cupcake, he can be extremely dangerous if he wants, and I think everyone needs to be reminded of that from time to time.

2.)Death’s Door

Look, the loss of Bobby hurt. A LOT. This was just such a beautiful and heartbreaking episode, though. We got to see so much of the love Bobby has for “his boys” and learn more about some of the other demons that haunted this cranky, drunken, lovely man. I will forever miss Bobby.

3.)The Born Again Identity

Cas being a bad guy is one thing, Cas being an amnesiac faith-healer is something I didn’t even realize I needed until it happened. I know some don’t agree, but the end of this episode also completes his “Godstiel” redemption and IMHO he’s back on the side of the righteous.

4.)The Girl With the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo

Charlie. ‘Nuff said. Season seven had its problems, to be sure, but introducing great new characters was not one of them. I love Charlie, she deserves better.

5.)Reading is Fundamental

Cas wakes up. Is a Pacifist. We meet Kevin Tran (another great character who deserved so much more). If only for a few great lines, this is a fantastic episode. We get to see a lot of the anger and pain of Cas’s initial betrayal and the toll it took on the brothers, and we also get more Meg, which… I can’t say I don’t love.

So, what are some of your favorite episodes of Season Seven?? I know overall it’ snot considered a good season, but you have to admit that there are some high quality episodes and A+ characters brought about by it.
