IKEA Recreates Iconic TV Living Rooms

As part of a new ad campaign IKEA is bringing to life some of the most iconic living rooms from TV. Those are: The Simpsons, Friends and Stranger Things.

Titled the “Real Life Series,” the living room sets have been carefully decorated to look almost identical to the fictional shows – even though Ikea doesn’t explicitly say so. It appears IKEA do not have a deal in place with any of the aforementioned shows so the room sets respectively are called the ‘room for everyone’, the ‘room for families’, and the ‘room for mates’.

The living room that is obviously inspired by “The Simpsons” is called the “Room for families” and is complete with Homer’s well-used brown couch, a green telephone, and crooked painting of a sailboat. It looks quite surreal to be honest.

The “Room for mates” is clearly a recreation of the iconic sitting area in “Friends” with its distinctive purple walls, yellow drapes, and patterned area rug. The detail in these setups are very impressive and whoever put them together clearly did their homework.

lastly the “Room for everyone” is styled to look like “Stranger Things” character Joyce Byers’ cluttered living room with the alphabet scrawled across the wall, a striped blanket thrown over the couch, and strings of multi-colour lights hung from the ceiling.

The entire range is currently only available in the United Arab Emirates but don’t be surprised if you start seeing these setups appear in stores stateside.
