In what seems like an eternity fans of Westworld finally have something to look forward to. Westworld season 3 will begin production next month according to HBO Programming Chief Casey Bloys.
Speaking with TheWrap during HBO’s day at the Television Critics Association press tour Friday, Bloys told them that production on the Evan Rachel Wood and Jeffrey Wright-led series will definitely begin next month, but wouldn’t confirm whether or not it will make it to air by the end of 2019.
However, it is safe to assume that Westworld won’t return with its next batch of episodes until 2020, due to the gap between Seasons 1 and 2 and the amount of time the large-scale series takes to produce along with the post-production process.

This also signifies that HBO has probably either fixed the set or have found a new location to shoot. If you recall most of their set was destroyed by the Woolsey wildfire that hit California last November.
Speaking about the upcoming season showrunner Lisa Joy had this to say last June in an interview: “It was always the plan to explore the real world and we have Dolores there, Bernard’s there and a creature that is certainly inhabiting Hale’s body is there [laughs]… So we’ll come to know more of who ‘Hale’ is. There are three Hosts out in the world and next season will really be an exploration of what they find and who they become.”
Ed Harris who plays the Man in Black had this to say about the upcoming season via the Huffington Post: “I don’t really know. As the show progresses, there seem to be more and more dimensions.” He added, “There’s the future, there’s the past, there’s the present, and so anything’s possible. But I can’t say much more than that.”
