Stevie, a kid in 1990s Los Angeles, escapes his turbulent home life with a new group of friends he meets at a local skate shop, plunging him into a world of fun, danger and excitement. – A24
mid90’s Jonah Hill’s directorial debut and you can’t even tell—every scene is meticulously shot. This is a movie about nothing except growing up in the 90’s, I’m a fake 90’s kid but this movie really hit me, so I imagine people that fully grew up in the 90’s with really feel the nostalgia. I cannot wait to see what Jonah Hill does next.
Sunny Suljic is Stevie a young man growing up in the 90’s—its kinda funny considering he wasn’t alive for any of the 90’s but nonetheless he kills it. Sunny is a serious actor with some serious clout, just go play God of War or watch The Killing of a Sacred Deer. I expect big things in Sunny’s future—oh yeah he is a pro or semi pro skater—kid is way cooler than I’ll ever be and he is only 13.
