* Garrett Wang is an actor mainly known for the role of Harry Kim of Star Trek: Voyager and an active traveler. Meeting Mr. Wang was an honor because I’m a huge Star Trek fan and I loved his character on the show. This man is an absolute riot, his popping personality made the interview even more fun.*

Me: I promised myself I wouldn’t freak out when I come face to face with you, but it’s kinda hard because you’re Garrett Wang! I’m sorry I missed you’re Q&A panel, the line ended all the way in the back of the building and by the time I made it inside, it was over.
Garrett: Omg I was looking for you in the room, I bet you were pretty upset.
Me: Yes I was! I was looking forward to what you had to say.
Garrett: Well it’s okay, you’re here now and that’s all that matters.
Me: You’re right, so let’s kill this curiosity I have. My first question is Since you’re appearance in Star Trek has there been anything else you want to pursue?
Garrett: Yes, I would love to do a sitcom. I really want to be on a show that makes people laugh.
Me: So maybe something like ‘How I Met Your Mother’?

Garrett: Sure, something like that or maybe something like friends, I don’t care what it is I just want to make people laugh.

Me: Yes, you are a natural comedian so you would fit perfectly in a sitcom
Garrett: I think I am haha.
Me: What keeps you on the edge?
Garrett: For me it would have to be traveling and meeting new people.
Me: Really? Where are some great places that you’ve traveled to?
Garrett: Iceland, Amsterdam, and the midlands are great places to travel.
Me: The travel life sounds great, I’ve always wanted to travel. Do you plan to work in the film industry anytime soon?
Garrett: Yeah, I mean if something came around and it’s a good project, I would do it. I’m not planning on do anything right now. I have projects that I plan in my mind, but nothing that anyone is working with me on now.

Me: Sounds interesting, it would be great to see you in a movie, but I can see you’re about the travel life. What is it like working with different actors, attitudes, and outlooks on the world?

Garrett: It’s a lesson of patience, you definitely have to learn to be patient when it comes to working with other people. You have to realize that people are raised differently and not expect them to act accordingly to what you think they should act like.
Me: That makes a lot of sense, I’ve had my struggles with having patience but you’re right it is the key to dealing with different people. Are you content with life right now?
Garrett: I am, I’m pretty content because I’m still alive. You will never find happiness in a person, money, or object it’s all generated by you. As long as you have a perspective you will know that when bad things happen to you, someone out there has it worse and that will make you establish being content. There are so many things that we take for granted.
