If you were a kid in the 1990s, you already know this guy. It’s Bill Nye the Science Guy! From 1993 – 1998 his show was on the Disney channel or your local programming patiently waiting to teach you about how the world works and what our place is in it. Billed as a cross between “Mr. Wizard and Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” it took everyday items and scenarios and broke them down into their scientific parts in order to show kids and adults a like that science can be fun and that anyone can do it.

In his most recent delightfully bingeable series, Bill Nye Saves the World, which drops its entire third season on May 11 on Netflix, our favorite bow-tie wearing scientist saves the world with more adult-friendly doses of scientific knowledge suited to the new, mad world we live in today. The season includes special guests like Tyler the Creator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Karlie Kloss, YouTuber Derek Muller, and Paul F. Tompkins, as well as Michael Ian Black in his comic role as the “Mad Scientist.”
