The Art of Fan Art

Since 1963, Doctor Who has been captivating the hearts and minds of nerd kind. Spanning generations, the show, and it’s growing collection of “made-for-tv” movie specials, has been taking us on wild adventures that have us crossing the universe. It’s original TV run lasted until 1989 and had us captivated by 7 different incarnations of The Doctor. In 1996 we briefly met the 8th Doctor in TV film appropriately called Doctor Who, but it ended up an unsuccessful attempt to relaunch the series. The world wasn’t ready for the return of The Doctor just yet.

It wasn’t until 2005 that The Doctor had finally made his successful return. Since then we’ve grown to love 4 more incarnations of The Doctor along with his trusty companions, side-characters (that have even gotten spin-offs of their own), and alien beings new and old.

2018 will mark the start of the 13th incarnation of The Doctor and the first female incarnation as Jodie Whittaker takes on the role. The decision has caused some controversy since it’s announcement, but personally, I can’t wait to see what she brings to the universe.

Until we finally get to fully meet our newest Doctor, spend some time checking out some of the amazingly talented artists who channel their love for the series into their work!
